Announcement: Minds Matter of the Twin Cities launching in 2012
Minds Matter National, Inc. is pleased to announce that it will welcome its tenth chapter, Minds Matter of the Twin Cities, in 2012. Minds Matter of the Twin Cities was founded by Kelly Miller, a Minnesota native who recently moved from New York City to the Twin Cities. Kelly was involved in the Minds Matter of NYC chapter in various capacities, including as Co-Director of Alumni. “I am thrilled to leverage the success of the national organization and bring Minds Matter to the Twin Cities, where a strong education system is valued, yet the achievement gap is among the most pronounced in the nation,” says Kelly. The newest chapter in the Minds Matter network has a strong leadership team in place, and the group is busy planning for the fall. “We are working hard to get everything in place to welcome our first class of sophomore students in the fall of 2012,” exclaims Kelly, “[We look forward to] growing the program in the years to come.” In 2012-2013, Minds Matter expects to serve over 500 students across ten cities nationwide (Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, Portland, San Francisco, and the Twin Cities).
