Students: Learn More
Minds Matter Seattle students receive dedicated support in four key areas.
Mentoring
You will be paired with two dedicated professional volunteers who will act as your mentors. Mentors provide support throughout the school year, coaching you through professional development workshops, summer program and college applications, personal statement writing, and more. Mentors are also a critical part of your support system, so the more you invest in building this relationship, the more you will learn and gain from this meaningful and unique relationship.
Academic Programs
To prepare for college, you will take structured Writing & Critical Thinking, and Math classes. You will receive weekly SAT Preparation. In our test prep program, you’ll focus on either the SAT and receive small-group instruction using both online and traditional test prep resources.

- Minds Minds Seattle provides funding for you to attend academic summer programs across the US or participate in a local hands-on research internship in your Sophomore and Junior summers. The academic summer programs help you get a glimpse of college campus life and allow you to deepen your exploration of an academic subject or career path.
- You can take courses at college campuses like Cornell University, Georgetown, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Seattle U, and UCLA (just to name a few).
- The research exploration internships help you gain hands-on experience in an industry and workplace that interests you. Some students participate in research internships with university professors, rotational internships at Fred Hutch, and other local research institutions.
College Application Support
With thousands of institutions across the US, it is daunting to figure out where to start. We help our students from the college exploration phase through the application & financial aid process and ultimately help them make their ultimate college decision.
Minds Matter Students have been admitted to the following colleges; Carleton College, Cal Tech, Georgetown, Harvard, Lehigh, Occidental College, Stanford, University of Washington-Seattle and Yale (just to name a few).
