Two mentors and countless volunteers will support you throughout the college admissions process from 10th through 12th grade.

Preparation

Get three years of weekly college-readiness programming, including all of the help you need for SATs, financial aid scholarships, and college applications. As well as academic enrichment in writing and math.

Possibilities

Go to two summer programs where you get the full on-campus college experience or participate in a local internship/research program.

Student Application Process

The application window opened on February 15 for fall 2024 enrollment. To apply for fall 2024 enrollment for Minds Matter Seattle, submit your application by May 1 for priority consideration and June 1, 2024 for final consideration.

Applicants who apply by May 1 will have their applications and decisions processed sooner, but we anticipate we will be able to consider all applications submitted by June 1.

A Minds Matter student must:

  • Be a high school freshman during the 2023/24 school year
  • Maintain a strong overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher
  • Be committed to pursuing a college education
  • Demonstrate strong academic potential, motivation, maturity, and responsibility
  • Be active in extracurricular and/or community activities (part-time jobs included)
  • Show that they would benefit greatly from a summer academic experience
  • Self-identify as low income (priority given to those who qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch or have a family income under the Very Low HUD income thresholds
